The journal of the Public Administration Theory Network, Administrative Theory & Praxis is a leading quarterly journal of dialogue in public administration theory. Its purpose is to advance knowledge and stimulate new thought in public administration. The journal is open to many perspectives that contribute to public administration, for example political and social theory, philosophy and ethics, theory of institutions and organizations, psychological, psychoanalytic, and phenomenological approaches, international and comparative theory, and critical, feminist, discourse, and postmodern theory. Readers are encouraged to communicate with the editors about possible papers, symposia, book reviews, or dialogue and commentary.

ATP evolved from the Network's original informal publication called Dialogue.

ATP is published with the generous support and assistance of the School of Public Affairs, Arizona State University, Phoenix, AZ.

Indexing

ATP is indexed in Sage Public Administration Abstracts and full-text online in EBSCO Academic Search Premier and ProQuest ABI/INFORM. Currently, PAT-Net has instituted a 6-month "embargo" in EBSCO and ABI/INFORM, so the most recent two issues will only be available in electronic format through MetaPress and in print.

Electronic Publishing

Beginning July 1, 2006, PAT-Net has contracted with MetaPress, an online provider of journal content, to carry ATP electronically. It allows us to provide ATP electronically to libraries that would prefer not to handle or store the print version. This is becoming more common, since libraries have limited space for journal storage and electronic delivery has become widely available.

The MetaPress website carries several years of back issues of ATP in addition to the current issue. The MetaPress website also provides users with enhanced search capabilities, email alerting of new issues, and custom links to your favorite titles.

Members of PAT-Net, and Institutional subscribers, have the option of receiving either the electronic version or the print version or both. Go to the PAT-Net page for more information on how to join.

Editorial Practices

ATP is a peer-reviewed journal with an outstanding, international Editorial Board of leading scholars in the field. In keeping with the spirit of dialogue, review practices are tailored to specific situations. When submitting manuscripts for review, authors may include suggested reviewers.

Manuscripts submitted to ATP should not be under consideration by another publication.

Materials should be submitted to the Editor online at atp.criticalmath.com.

ATP uses the parenthetical reference style of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association. Materials should be formatting according the ATP Style Guide.

Back Issues

Back issues of ATP are available on a limited basis. Cost for each copy is $20.00. To inquire about availability contact us at Thomas.Catlaw@asu.edu.

The contents of several back issues are also available at MetaPress. For access users will need to register with MetaPress and subscribe to ATP.

Also available for purchase is "Dialogue and Administrative Theory & Praxis 1979-1999," a compilation of the first 20 years of PAT-Net publications.
